This
year, more than 120 cooks will compete for top prizes
in the Cook-Off contests in fajitas, chicken, pork, brisket,
salsa, chili and pot luck.
The DS Cook-Off Club is a strong non-profit organization. The
Club supports numerous organizations in Dripping Springs and
frequently donates "cooking time and expertise"
to local events. The club has always played a major role in
the spirit of Founders Day, and we strive to maintain the
success and enjoyment of each celebration. In addition, the
Cook-Off Club donates its profits back to the community.
Over
the years, we have given our extra funds to Helping Hands,
the Senior Citizens Activity Center, North Hays County Fire
Department, Hays Country Crime Prevention Program, EMS, and
Dripping Springs Youth Sports Association. We have also purchased three animals from 4-H Livestock
Show youths. In 2002, the Cook-Off Club donated $5,000 to
our
community.
Since 1996, the Club has given back more than $12,000! With
your efforts and our determination, the Cook-Off Club will
continue to support Dripping Springs in the coming years,
and will keep the Cook-Off Club and Founders Day going strong!
The
Cook-Off Club also hosts a chili-cook-off in October each
year.
